Stakeholder Council Nominations are now closed.

The Stakeholder Council nomination period concluded on 29 June 2010 (midnight CET).  The list of nominees will be published on Organizational Stakeholder pages. 

Elections - Phase 1  (21 July - 8 September 2010)

The nomination period will be followed by Phase 1 of elections done by the Organizational Stakeholders between 21 July 2010 and 8 September 2010.  The Organizational Stakeholder's will vote for 60% of the 19 vacancies that will fall vacant at the end of 2010. 

Elections - Phase 2  (30 September - 1 October, 2010)

The Stakeholder Council will vote in the Phase 2 of the Stakeholder Council elections.  They will vote to fill 40% of the 19 seats during their annual meeting on 30 September and 1 October, 2010.

The Stakeholder Council (SC) is GRI’s formal stakeholder policy forum, similar to a parliament, that debates and deliberates key strategic and policy issues. The SC meets annually and comprises a balance of stakeholder and geographic constituencies.

The SC’s key governance functions include approving nominations for the Board of Directors (Board), making strategic recommendations to the Board, such as future policy or business planning activities. They are also the “eyes and ears” of the GRI network in their diverse locations and constituencies. 

Key supporting functions by individual SC members may include participating in technical working groups convened by the Secretariat for guidelines development, advising or actively helping to build the GRI network in their constituencies or regions.
